An Undergraduate Math Proof

I really wanted an excuse to learn Manim as soon as I found out that it was open source and free to use. I am a huge fan of 3Blue1Brown and have always loved his animations and visuals, so when I learned about Manim I immediately wanted to attempt making a video with it.

In my first upper division Math class, “Introduction to Proofs”, I vividly remember this one problem which was asked on a final exam. I enjoyed the visual way that I solved it and I recall a great feeling of satisfaction walking out of that exam having figured out this answer on my own.

I’ve wanted to learn Manim since learning that 3B1B open sourced the project and I thought there would be no better way for me to learn then to make a video on a proof that can be solved visually. At this point I knew what I had to do.

I highly encourage you to pause the video and attempt to solve this yourself, there really is immense satisfaction in arriving at the solution and this problem reinforced my desire to pursue a degree in mathematics.
